The BooGie Bros are a rockin' R&B/boogie-blues band that was formed in the mid 1990's in Moncton, NB, by former members of local rock band "Big Whammy"; "Long" Jon Guitard (vocals), "Smokin'" Steve Stewart (guitar), & "Slammin'" Pat Browne (drums). The lineup was rounded out by Scotty "Boy" Horsman on harmonica and vocals, and bassist "Blistering" Mike Noddin. Riding a sudden upswing in popularity of the Blues genre, the Bros. soon became local venue favourites, recording and releasing a Live CD in 1996: "That's the Ticket (Absolutely) LIve". Mike Noddin left the group and "Magic" Mark Taylor was recruited to take over bottom-end duties, before recording their second CD in 1999: "Just Gimme the Keys". Sharing stages with Jeff Healey, The Johnny Favourite Swing Orchestra, Dutch Mason and Rick Jeffery, Theresa Malenfant, and featuring twice at the renowned International Harvest Music Festival in Fredericton, NB, the BooGie Bros.did their part in "spreadin' that rhythm around"!
